Thank You for a Job Well Done

Welcome to the Suppliers for Housing website. We formed our coalition to restore the American dream and put the U.S. economy back on solid footing. The recent passage of the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act goes a long way toward helping existing and potential homeowners. The bill includes a $7,500 tax credit for first-time homebuyers and a program to save hundreds of thousands of families from losing their homes to foreclosure.

We would like to extend our deep appreciation to members of Congress and the U.S. housing manufacturers and distributors who supported our coalition's efforts. Thanks for a job well done.

But our work is far from finished. To save jobs, homebuilding companies and suppliers will still need more support.  This bill begins the work of stemming the tide of  foreclosures but now we must ensure that liquidity exists  in the system to stimulate growth.  The liquidity of both the overall mortgage market and of the companies that form the backbone of the housing industry remain missing pieces of the recovery. Our workforce and the entire economy would be better served by allowing companies to deduct current losses against taxes paid four years ago, instead of the current two-year period. Please join us in continuing to support the Net Operating Loss provision.

Sincerely,

Frederick M. Marino, Chairman
Suppliers for Housing Group
